Many people discover Tantra through intimacy, relationships or personal growth.
Yet at its roots, Tantra also contains powerful meditation practices designed to awaken awareness, presence and inner transformation.
Today, I would like to share three traditional meditation practices that have inspired my own journey.
These practices come from different streams of the tantric tradition and offer simple ways to bring more consciousness into everyday life.
The Lotus Thread Meditation
This meditation is inspired by teachings from the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra.
Imagine a luminous thread running through the centre of your body, connecting earth and sky.
Bring your attention gently to this inner axis.
Allow yourself to feel grounded, centred and connected.
Many practitioners find that this meditation develops presence, embodiment and a deeper sense of inner alignment.
The Heart Meditation of Atisha
This meditation is associated with the Tibetan master Atisha.
As you inhale, imagine welcoming the difficulties and suffering that exist in the world.
As you exhale, offer kindness, compassion and love.
The practice invites us to discover the transformative capacity of the heart.
It teaches that openness is not weakness but strength.
The Quan Yin Meditation
This meditation focuses attention on the space between the eyebrows.
With eyes gently closed, become aware of your breath and the subtle vitality it carries.
Imagine this energy filling your head with light.
Many practitioners describe this meditation as a way to cultivate clarity, intuition and insight.
Meditation as a Path of Transformation
While these practices are simple, their effects can be profound when approached with regularity and patience.
One of the great teachings of Tantra is that transformation does not necessarily happen through extraordinary experiences.
Often it begins with a few minutes of conscious presence each day.
At Menās Hearts, we integrate meditation alongside relational practices, embodied awareness, creativity and conscious intimacy.
Our intention is to offer an approach that honours both the traditional roots of Tantra and contemporary forms of practice such as French Neo-Tantra.
All Menās Hearts retreats welcome international participants and are facilitated in both French and English, with translation available whenever needed.
If you would like to deepen your practice and explore Tantra in community, we warmly invite you to discover our upcoming retreats.
Tantrically,
